The Origin of WagletWorks
Hi, I’m Waglet!
I’m the spokesdog for all things fun! I’m the spirit of all dogs who love to spend time adventuring with their humans. We all become waglets when we know we get to hang out with you guys!
I wasn’t always a superhero.
I know it’s hard to believe. Before I donned my awesome cape and this convenient belt system, I was just a tiny voice inside the head of my creator, Barbara Peterson-Malesci
By day, you see, Barbara works as a Set Decorator on Movies, TV Shows and commercials. She, and the rest of the crew on the set, use these handy belts to carry the things they need, while keeping their hands free to work. Each department has their own type of stuff they use, make up, grips, electricians, props, set dressing, and so on. Here, I'll show you what I mean below.
So back to me!
By night, Barbara, and husband Artie are proud dog mom and dad to three German Shepherds, who love to go for walks just like every waglet! They found that walking these three big dogs while trying to juggle poo bags, water, toys, keys, snacks, etc., was very challenging. Especially for big adventures, when you need to bring even more stuff.
I was the little voice in Barbara’s head when she was tangled up in leashes, trying to pick up dog poo. She got the idea from me to use the belt from her day job, and make a belt system for walking her own waglets at home and on the road. She invented the Poo Transport Pac for starters, so she wouldn’t be left “holding the bag,”and she just kept going, creating solutions for every situation she encountered while adventuring with her waglets.
Well, that’s how WagletWorks was born! Clever dog that I am, I figured we should help the world solve the same problems Barbara was having. So we unleashed WagletWorks, LLC, with the idea that making doo-ing the right thing easier for dog guardians, will make dogs become accepted in more places. That, and spending more time together, will make us all waglets!
These are my Creators…
Barbara Peterson-Malesci (President & CEO)
is the inventor, founder and proud”Dog Mom”
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she and her family spent many yearly vacations driving across this beautiful country, camping, exploring and enjoying the outdoors. She has always loved outdoor adventure. Barbara ventured to Miami, FL, in the late 70s to attend design college. She began working in the Motion Picture Industry in the early 80s, as a Set Decorator for TV, Movies and commercials, and has been enjoying this career ever since.

Artie Malesci (Board Chairman)
is the inventor, founder and proud”Dog Dad”
Artie is a Stunt Coordinator and Second Unit Director for Motion Pictures. He got his start in the industry by wrangling sharks for the James Bond movies (he previously studied Marine Biology). He has owned, handled and trained many animals throughout the years, including bears, lions, tigers, alligators, dolphins, killer whales, sharks, cattle, horses, buffalo and more.
Together, Barbara and Artie have had a hand in over 100 movies, shows and commercials; including blockbuster smash hits such as Immortals, Law Abiding Citizen, Men in Black 2, Ace Ventura, The Waterboy, and Marley and Me. (You can even see Barbara and Xia in Marley and Me!)

When they’re not making movies, Barbara, Artie and their waglets – Hugo, Xia and Cerk - hit the road for adventure every chance they get. They firmly believe that anything worth doing is better when you’re doing it with the dogs you love!
